Bioassay of carbromal for possible carcinogenicity.
A bioassay for the possible carcinogenicity of carbromal was conducted using Fischer 344 rats and B6C3F1 mice. Carbromal was administered in the feed, at either of two concentrations, to groups of 50 male and 50 female animals of each species with the exception of 49 low dose male mice and high dose female mice. Twenty animals of each sex and species were placed on test as controls. The high an...
متن کاملFatal addiction to trichloroethylene.
Trichloroethylene inhalation is a common industrial hazard that involves a risk of addiction. In the present case there was evidence of indulgence of addiction at work but not at home. The medical history suggested permanent paresis of the olfactory nerves in addition to intermittent gastric disturbance. Sudden death, not preceded by severe physical exertion, occurred some 17 hours after the la...
متن کاملGenetic contributions to addiction.
Even the most extreme environmentalists along the nature-nurture continuum in psychology now acknowledge that genes often contribute to individual differences in behavior. Behavioral traits are complex, reflecting the aggregate effects of many genes. These genetic effects are interactive, inter se and with the environments in which they are expressed. Human studies of addictive behaviors have c...
متن کاملAddiction to Internet, Modeling and Control
In this paper, we propose a mathematical model of addiction to Internet. We investigate the effect of educational programs on the control of the addiction. We compute basic reproduction number. By using Chavez-Song theorem, we show the occurrence of backward bifurcation. We prove the global stability of the equilibrium points using geometric stability method and Lyapunov function.
